For a 10-unit private house development in Lambeth, the task was creating a gateway to translate the classic architectural and landscape design aspirations anticipated for the individual residences. The resultant composition integrates a monolithic masonry feature that is asymmetrically organized and anchored by an ornamental fence and a sweeping landscape spanning the frontage. A discreet plant selection balances timeless and a stylized meadow aesthetics with a focus on foliage texture and seasonal interest. To heighten the gateway threshold experience, textural paving stretches across the driveway demarcating the entry with sound and a visual identity.
