Tucked within a small backyard a tall order to accommodate several entertaining features was organized and balanced with simplicity and harmony. A perforated stainless steel gate offers tantalizing glimpses into the courtyard and provides security. Central to the composition is an exposed aggregate terrace that is complemented by a raised linear fire pit with a contrasting smooth concrete finish that provides a built-in seatwall dual purpose to cozy up beside the hearth. Near the back door a barbeque and hot tub are conveniently located for ease of access. Square clipped boxwood tables that establish a compositional framework and rhythm are complemented by monochromatic and textural background planting beds that add lushness and movement.
