A naturalized garden design approach brings the bordering riverbank landscape up to the street edge, which is in stark contrast to the smooth clean lines and finishes of the contemporary residence. White pine, trembling aspen, hemlock and dogwood punctuate the interior courtyard creating a lacy foreground foil. An understorey of perennials, groundcovers and evergreen vines that are spliced by a concrete pad walkway and a gravel vestibule augment and enhance the horizontal lines of the courtyard walls and wooden screens.
